Description
Kalahari means in the local dialect: “The land without water”. The Kalahari Desert is located on the remains of a former prehistoric lake, Makgadikgadi, which had an area of over 80,000 km2 and a depth of over 30 m. It dried up thousands of years ago, leaving behind one of the largest salt flats in the world.
This salt is harvested by hand in an uninhabited area of the Kalahari desert in South Africa. Pure water dissolves the salt and creates a saline solution which is then gently dried by the desert sun, resulting in pure, nutritious crystals, rich in vital minerals such as potassium, magnesium and sulfur.
You will undoubtedly notice the special Kalahari taste. It is ideal for use with any kind of dish, but we especially recommend it to enhance the flavors of meat, vegetable or fish dishes.
Kalahari salt has been carefully selected by Maldon experts, being verified and packaged under their strict supervision.
Keep in a cool, dry place.
